fantomas blockFrog™
The snoop protector: block predefined IPs from accessing your web pages.
Avoid code napping, frivolous litigation for purported rights violation, protect your code and your privacy from established snoops and dumb, misbehaved spiders running rampant on your site.
The Problem
What with the web becoming ever more competitive, there's a lot of people out there after your hide. They will check, among other things, whether your site is infringing trade marks and violating copyright, etc. More often than not, their snoop bots are quite aggressive, deep crawling (and presumably caching) your site without your permission, ignoring the robots.txt convention, etc.
It is for cases like these that we devised fantomas blockFrog™, the spider trap. We were not particularly amused by this sort of activity, even though we have nothing to hide.
Legitimate pursuit of copyright infringements and trademark piracy etc. is one thing — violation of privacy and provocation of unwarranted, frivolous litigation because of mere greediness is another.
If you've got serious money to lose (or if you give that impression), you can safely bet on it that some shark will try to get at it sooner or later. This may very well concern your clients as well.
Seeing that people have been (and are being) sued for a mere link on their site, this issue should not be trivialized. If you simply so much as mention Microsoft Windows or Dell or what have you on your site, you run a very realistic risk of being sued brainless these days.
The Solution
The neat and resourceful fantomas blockFrog™ will protect your web pages by blocking predefined IPs.
List of features (free version):
- specify one single IP or an IP range to block from access
- snoop bot process will be put to sleep, saving bandwidth and system CPU resources
- server based application working under Unix and NT
- no-brainer installation in a whiff!
