The fantomas shadowMaker™ Technical Requirements

Except where specifically stated otherwise, all fantomas phantomLine™ Programs offered for sale have identical system requirements.

System Requirements
1. Server requirements for hosting the Shadow Domain GENERATOR MODULE
Operating system
Any flavor of Linux/Unix with:
  • Apache web server installed.
  • Perl 5 with LWP module.
  • Execution of CGI scripts enabled.
  • A directory for execution of CGI scripts must be existent.
    Usually, this will be directoy /cgi-bin/.
  • No restriction of outgoing HTTP traffic.
    (This is required to spider URLs.)
  • No time restriction for Perl processes.
    (E. g. if you have a list with 20,000 keywords the search engine query process might run over several days.)
  • Setup of cron jobs enabled.
  • Sendmail functionality enabled.
2. Server requirements for hosting the SHADOW DOMAINS proper
Operating system
Any flavor of Linux/Unix with:
  • Apache web server with module mod_rewrite installed.
  • Perl 5.
  • Execution of CGI scripts in the DocumentRoot folder enabled.
  • A directory for execution of CGI scripts must be existent.
    Usually, this will be directoy /cgi-bin/.
  • .htaccess functionality enabled.
  • wget functionality enabled.
  • Setup of cron jobs enabled.
  • Sendmail functionality enabled.

Server requirements for hosting both the GENERATOR and the SHADOW DOMAINS on a single system
Operating system
Any flavor of Linux/Unix with:
  • Apache web server with module mod_rewrite installed.
  • Perl 5 with LWP module.
  • Execution of CGI scripts in the DocumentRoot folder enabled.
  • A directory for execution of CGI scripts must be existent.
